Global Deaf Muslim formed the first international chapter in Tamale, Ghana in 2012. The Tamale Chapter is called Muslim Deaf Development (MDD) and is incorporated under the laws of Ghana. MDD is the integrated part of GDM. This fulfills the global aspect of GDM. President Nashiru went to Tamale, Ghana to stay at there from August – September 2012 to build a chapter and assembling Deaf Muslims in Ghana to come together. GDM maintain a direct supervision of Tamale chapter. TMDD is be led by a Chapter Director, appointed by the President with the advice of the national officers. MDD coordinates resources, Islamic classes, interpreters, and social services for Deaf Muslims living in Ghana.
